DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
The recommended dosage level of ACRIFLAVINE is 5-10 mg/liter (ppm) for several hours to several days for the treatment of Oodiniosis, often called "velvet or "rust" disease, because of the way the skin appears when the disease is prevalent. It is caused by a dynoflagellate of the genus Amyloodinium (Oodinium). Amyloodinium is unicellular, 40 - 100 microns in size and is found in the fishes' skin and gills.Partial water changes should be used between treatments. Acriflavine can be removed from the water by filtration with a high quality liquid-phase activated carbon. Because Acriflavine is an extremely potent drug and the relative inaccuracy involved in measuring powders by volume, this product should only be measured by weight. To achieve the recommended treatment level, a stock solution should be made and stored in an amber glass bottle.

MAKING A STOCK SOLUTION:
Use 0.0384 grams (38.4 mg) per milliliter (mL) of total solution (38.4 grams per liter ) or use 1.13 grams per fluid ounce of total solution (145 grams per gallon). Use only deionized or distilled water to make up stock solutions. The contents of this package will make up exactly 2.604 liters (30.4 fl oz.) of stock solution.

The above produces a stock solution with a concentration of 3.84% (weight to volume). When used at the rate of 1 teaspoon (5 mL) per 10 gallons (37.8 L) a level of 5 ppm Acriflavine is produced. 100 grams of this product will treat 5,208 gallons at a dosage level of 5 ppm.

CAUTION:
Powerful dye. May cause skin sensitization.
Avoid skin contact. Avoid contact with clothing.
Avoid breathing the powder or dust.
Use in an area with minimal air movement to prevent blowing of the dust.
In case of eye contact, immediately flush with water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
In case of skin contact, wash with soap or a mild detergent.
